Donating Gowns to Hospitals Worldwide

On September 8th, 2012 we made our first in hospital gown donation ever, since then we've donated gowns to twenty-six hospitals, including one in Guatemala. The hospitals we have donated gowns to are listed below. These donations typically are sent directly to the NICUs for the hospital, the pattern used for these gowns is the NICU Smock pattern by Everything Your Momma Made and More that is listed on our Sewing Opportunities page.
Frequently, other items are included within the NICU Suprise Boxes like crochet hats, smaller blankets, fabric or crochet baby booties, burp cloths, bandana bibs, nursing/skin-to-skin covers, reusable nursing pads, and other items that are appropriate for within the NICU setting.

Ben's Blessings: Gowns
Our first special embroidery design gowns went to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee in memory of Benjamin Owen Hudson for his second birthday celebration!
The Hudson family has one we have been connected to since before Ben's birth (which also just happens to be my birthday) - we made his sister Emma a stuffed frog with pieces of fabric from when his gown was made. When his younger brother was born, we made a matching set for both boys, even though Ben passed away in May of 2014. On June 19, 2015 we mailed off (10) gowns embroidered with the words "Ben's Blessings" and a heart with crossed Band-Aids. They were included in care packages for the PICU where Ben was cared for. |

Coping with Laryngomalacia, Inc: Infant Gowns
|
An organization we have frequently worked with in providing gown donations to is Coping with Laryngomalacia, Inc. They work side-by-side with families who have a child diagnosed with various airway defects.
They provide educational resources, financial support, and care package where our gowns have been used. We typically provide infant sized gowns to the organization when they are in need. We have provided other sized gowns throughout the years as well. |
Lacey Strong: Gowns & Towels
In 2015 we made the Warner family and Angel Monkey gown after learning Lacey had passed away before receiving her gown that was returned in the mail to us by the hospital she received care at.
That same year, we took some of our leftover gowns from the very first pattern, and create (20) gowns using a monkey and the words "Lacey Strong" for the care packages her parents take to Boston Children's Hospital each year. In 2017, we were looking for something to make for the care packages, and soft, comfy towels were the perfect fit! We once again embroidered the (20) towels with a special monkey and "Lacey Strong" for children on the cardiac unit. |

OVI Children's Hospital: Gowns and Reusable Wipes
|
In 2017 we were able to send out 100 reusable wipes and several packages of Ruby Moon Laundry Wipes Bits that are used for wipe solution. April of 2018 we followed that donation with (55) of our original gowns to OVI Children's Hospital in Kenya!
These range from Newborn to what was the first 6-10 design in both boys and girls prints...and also marked the 16th country across the world that gowns have been sent to the past six years. |
