So many times there are little ones born, that their homecoming day, is the day they return home to Heaven. It is heartbreaking, and there are so many reasons out there that it can happen, but for every life taken away too soon, there is a miracle happening elsewhere.
That would be the case for "Baby K," who joined our Gracie's Gowns family not as a baby, but as a child. She was a mirco-preemie, born at 22 weeks!!! She weighed barely over a pound at birth and was given a 5% chance at life. Now that is one amazing hospital and staff...and the power of God at hand. This little girl is going to have a major impact on those around her!
After spending 6 months in the NICU, she was able to leave with a shunt to help with the excess fluid on her brain. In the picture below, she was going into the hospital for her 8th surgery! She has had 7 shunt malfunctions since it was placed.
The medical world is a practice, the things that are suppose to work, sometimes don't or they create more problems later on, but in most cases they work the way they should, when they should. Remember there are bigger plans for each of our lives than we can see...through all the malfunctions, surgeries and tests of will, patience and dedication, there will be good that comes from this.
A little story about the fabric that was used ~ just because I am quirky and like to share things of this nature...anyway. This fabric was picked out almost 2 years ago to make some items for my niece Chloe, while was sister was still pregnant, she wanted me to make her some items and picked out this fabric. I held onto the remainder (as most sewers do...we save EVERYTHING) and here it is now made into this hospital gown. I never thought any of the fabric I have would ever be used for such a wonderful cause!
To Kristian and her family ~ we keep all of your in our prayers! Never give up and please, let me know if we can do anything to help!
