Merry Christmas Everyone

I just wanted to take a few moments and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas while our cake is baking in the oven. We received a family meal for this Christmas from a local church that we have been going to counseling through (and what a blessing the counseling and the meal have been). But there was a cake

mix inside the meal and I wasn't quite sure what we were going to do with that, but decided to start a new
family tradition and we will be making a birthday cake for Jesus and tonight singing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus.
Might get a picture posted once it is done, but for the mean time just trust me I am not a huge or great baker, so it may not be that pretty to take a picture of. And yes, I am going to let them have a piece tonight before baths, new jammies and bedtime ~ my hope is that I won't be too exhausted that we can all climb in our bed and read the Christmas story in the Bible to the littles as well.
After all I want the guys to understand that Christmas is the season of giving and what the true reason behind Christmas is...it took me a while to realize this myself. I mean I knew it, but I wanted to make sure these guys had presents to open and all...and as the year played out we realized that more than likely they weren't...and while we were okay with it, it still hurt to realize it, because my oldest is in school and I know what they would all talk about once they came back from break...but God put some amazing people in our life who played Santa for our children and they will have gifts to open, but I still want them to realize there is so much more to Christmas than presents, because there may not always be presents and yet we should still be in the spirit of giving, love, joy and peace towards others no matter what happens.

The other reason I wanted to take time out of the day and write, is that I want everyone to say a prayer, send  happy thoughts, whatever you may do to all the families that will be celebrating Christmas in a bittersweet way. Those that lost their child this year to whatever cause it may be. I know through doing Gracie's Gowns there were three little ones who earned their angel wings that we made gowns for, a few more I read about on other pages that we hadn't made contact with, but still touched the lives of all that followed their stories. And there are THOUSANDS more throughout the world that have lost their battle with disease, cancer, complications from surgeries, etc...but also keep in mind the families that lost their children expectantly due to tragedy. In particular the families in Connecticut going on two weeks ago. The funerals were occurring this past week and I know this has to be a terrible time for those families. My grandmother passed away the same day, and while that was expected (She has been on hospice the last month and some), this will be the first year I won't hear her voice on the phone calling me to wish us a "Merry Christmas." I can only begin to imagine the anguish the families are experiencing having lost their loved one so suddenly.
I found this poem on another page (actually several) and decided I wanted to share it here as well...it is so sweet and I know it will touch your heart just as it has mine.

God Bless each of you this Christmas season!
I look forward in the next week of posting our numbers for the 2012 year (we still haven't reached our official one year in sewing hospital gowns ~ we are 9 months old right now), so stay tuned!!
We have many goals to reach in the 2013 year.
As always, we keep each of our families in our prayers each day.
We love each of you and your children very much.
Merry Christmas, The Kidd Family
